Mansa Pitha

Ingredients:

  • Garlic- 1 piece full
  • Cumin seeds- 2tbsp
  • Dried red chillies- 4-5 pieces
  • Turmeric powder- 2tbsp
  • Onion- 1 medium sized
  • Ginger- 2 pieces
  • 4 handful of rice flour
  • Meat- 500gm

Procedure:

  • A fine paste of the ginger, garlic, onion, cumin seeds and dried red chillies is made.
  • The meat is marinated using mustard oil and the masala paste, turmeric powder and salt.
  • A fine Powder of the rice is made and is added to the marinated meat and mixed.
  • The plates of sal leaves are greased with oil and the batter is laid.
  • A pan is heated and the sal leaves plates filled with batter is placed on the pan.
  • Some water is sprinkled so that the pitha doesn't burn or stick to the bottom.
  • When the pitha is cooked, it is served in sal leaves.
